I had a great time at the weekend attending the Ambigai Chariot Festival at Nottingham Sir Thurkkai Amman Temple in Beeston Rylands. Thank you to all those who helped organise what was an incredibly special local event.
I brought the Secretary of State for Transport to Beeston Station to meet with Friends of Beeston Station and look at the work being done on our new lifts!
I spoke in a Westminster Hall Debate on Flooding, the clip can be found above. In Broxtowe we have been affected severely by recent floods, specifically Babet and Henk. Both businesses and homes have been affected.
Over the weekend I took part in a charity football match in support of the Poppy Appeal. As a Veteran and a member of Eastwood & District Royal British Legion, I was delighted to be able to support this worthy cause.
Potholes are frequently mentioned to me in person, through my post and via email.
That is why I have been speaking to the relevant Ministers, County Councillors and Via East Midlands to see what can be done. See my latest update in this video.
I recently met with Men in Sheds UK in Parliament. A fantastic organisation focused on giving men the space to focus on men’s mental health and wellbeing. I was delighted to learn that their own CEO comes from Broxtowe!
Congratulations to Ey Up Mi Duck Charcuterie on being crowned the County’s best butchers by the Nottingham Post. I have been working closely with the business over the last year and I can attest to the fact that they are worthy winners.
I met with, Guy Opperman, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Roads and Local Transport. We discussed the roads within Broxtowe and the issues that have been raised regarding potholes.
