I have been lobbying the Transport Minister Grant Shapps for the benefit of Broxtowe, and earlier this week I spoke with the Department of Transport Minister Chris Heaton-Harris and I am delighted that Nottinghamshire County Council will receive £2.1 million as part of the second tranche of the Active Travel Fund.
This funding will directly benefit residents in Broxtowe through point closures on Dovecote Lane to make a quiet route for cyclists. Naturally, this is subject to consultation with the local community and outstanding design work. Additionally, Beeston Railway Station will benefit from more secure cycle hubs.
