With #Budget2021 coming up tomorrow, this is an interesting watch as the Chancellor reflects on the challenges of the last 12 months. His job is a tough one at the best of times and, with current circumstances, I am sure no one envies his position! However, I must applaud his commitment and dedication to seeing this country through Covid-19.
I look forward to watching the budget tomorrow and seeing what Broxtowe can expect going forward into the Spring and Summer months.
Ahead of #Budget2021, I am pleased to hear £400 million in additional support will be handed to museums, theatres and galleries in England to ensure they can reopen once restrictions start to ease. I know that for many arts and culture venues in and around Broxtowe, this will provide much-needed support.
I also welcome the £150 million that will be delivered via the Community Ownership Fund – helping to support both pubs and sports clubs. Having heard from many constituents concerned about the future of the 59 pubs we have here in Broxtowe, I know this announcement will provide relief for those pubs.
Tomorrow, I will be following the Budget announcement closely. In particular, I hope to see changes to self-employment support, as well as medium-term and long-term support for businesses going forward - both of which I know will be key for many in Broxtowe.
