Today marks 70 years since the Empire Windrush arrived at Tilbury Docks. We will mark the contribution of the Windrush generation to British society and ensure their legacy will never be forgotten.
·To recognise their contribution, the Prime Minister has announced the establishment of a Windrush Committee to create a permanent, fitting tribute to the Windrush generation and their children.
·The Windrush generation have made a lasting contribution to all aspects of British society, as they both rebuilt our country and built their own lives here.
