Having met with local residents this week, I am aware that some areas in #Broxtowe are experiencing problems with their broadband speed.
Understandably, now more than ever access to reliable broadband service is vital for our livelihoods and mental wellbeing.
I am working to get us at the top of the list when it comes to a full-fibre roll-out. For a quick update on this, our area will benefit from a £117 million investment as part of the initial roll-out to replace the nation’s legacy networks with gigabit-capable full-fibre connectivity. I will keep an eye on this so we can ensure that we can upgrade our connectivity here in Broxtowe as quickly as possible.
For now, the Government has a range of programmes that could help to increase speeds and access for homes and businesses
Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme: https://gigabitvoucher.culture.gov.uk/
Superfast Broadband. If you are a resident you could have access to a Superfast scheme in your area. You may also be eligible for a voucher to support the cost of gigabit-capable broadband as part of a group scheme. For more information, see here:

Universal Service Obligation. If you don’t have access to commercial broadband that is able to deliver a ‘decent broadband service’ (10Mbps download or 1Mbps upload), you may be eligible to request a connection under the Broadband Universal Service Obligation from a provider designated by Ofcom:

If you run a small to medium-sized business, you may be eligible for a voucher to support the cost of gigabit-capable broadband.
If you are a community, you may be able to improve your broadband connectivity by creating group schemes with broadband suppliers and using vouchers to support the cost of installation. A guide to community-led broadband projects can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/.../community-led.../guidance....
I would urge those residents with significant concerns about their broadband speed to email me at darren.henry.mp@parliament.uk so my team and I can help and advise. Thanks to those who have already reached out.
