At a meeting of Conservative members from across the seven constituencies in Wiltshire and Swindon, Angus Macpherson was reselected as the candidate for the Police and Crime Commissioner election to be held in May. Angus was the first elected PCC when elections were held in November 2012.
Following the meeting of Conservative Party members, which was held in Devizes on Friday, 7 August, Angus said:
“It is a privilege to do this job for all the people of Wiltshire and Swindon. I hold the chief constable to account for the performance of the Force and its priorities. I’m pleased that we continue to value local policing, locally delivered, in our force area. In the wider responsibilities I’m very pleased to have established the Horizon Victim and Care Unit and to have supported a wide range on voluntary initiatives across the area, including widening the coverage of Speedwatch and introducing Community Messaging”.
The next PCC elections will be held on Thursday, 5 May 2016 alongside local elections in Swindon.
