Support for the Hospitality Industry

I understand that this has been a difficult time for the hospitality industry in Broxtowe. I have kept in regular contact with many businesses and have raised their concerns with my Ministerial Colleagues.

It has been heartening to see many hospitality businesses reopening after 4 July including pubs, restaurants, B&Bs, hotels and campsites, amongst others able to open providing they adhere to the Covid-19 Secure guidance. The full guidance can be found online at:

https://www.gov.uk/guidance/working-safely-during-coronavirus-covid-19.

To help hospitality businesses during these challenging times, several financial support schemes have been created. These include the Coronavirus Job Retention Loan Scheme, the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme and a business rates holiday for all businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors for 2020-2021.

Furthermore, businesses were given immediate support via the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grant Fund (RHLGF). Under the RHLGF, eligible businesses in England in receipt of the Expanded Retail Discount with a rateable value up to and including £15,000 will receive a grant of £10,000 and eligible businesses with a rateable value of over £15,000 but less than £51,000 will receive a grant of £25,000.

I do appreciate that not every hospitality business is able to reopen, but I am assured that as soon as the science and circumstances allow it, they will be able to reopen. Businesses in need of financial support are encouraged to use the business support finder to identify what financial support is available:

If any businesses are struggling or would like to share their experiences with me, please do not hesitate to get into contact.
